Tips for the best result
-
Use chilled ingredients – Refrigerated fruit and cold water help create a refreshing smoothie without requiring too much ice.
-
Add the liquid first – Pouring the water or coconut water into the blender before adding the fruit and spinach may help the ingredients move more easily around the blades.
-
Cut the fruit into smaller pieces – Smaller pieces blend more evenly and may help reduce the amount of time required to reach a smooth texture.
-
Taste before adding stevia – Banana and apple provide natural sweetness, so additional sweetener may not be needed.
-
Use stevia sparingly – Concentrated stevia can taste very sweet even in small quantities. Follow the current product label directions and add gradually.
-
Adjust the consistency – Add a little more liquid for a thinner smoothie. For a thicker texture, use slightly less liquid or add a few extra pieces of frozen banana.
-
Blend the spinach thoroughly – Continue blending until no large pieces of spinach remain and the colour looks evenly green.
-
Enjoy it fresh – The flavour, colour and texture are best soon after blending. Natural separation may occur if the smoothie is left standing, so stir it again before drinking.
