Tips for the best result
-
Start with chilled ingredients – Cold water and refrigerated cucumber help keep the drink refreshing without requiring too much ice.
-
Release the mint aroma gently – Lightly clap or press the mint leaves before adding them. Avoid crushing them too firmly, as heavily bruised mint can develop a stronger flavour.
-
Allow a short infusion time – Letting the cucumber and mint sit in the drink for a few minutes will create a more noticeable flavour.
-
Adjust the cucumber flavour – Add an extra slice for a stronger cucumber taste or use fewer slices for a lighter result.
-
Enjoy it freshly prepared – The colour, flavour and presentation are best soon after preparation.
-
Protect clothing and surfaces – Liquid chlorophyll has a strong green colour and may mark clothing or porous surfaces. Pour carefully and clean spills promptly.
Flavour variations
Lemon, cucumber and mint
Add a small squeeze of fresh lemon juice before serving.
Start with a small amount and adjust gradually so the lemon does not overpower the cucumber and mint.
Lime, cucumber and mint
Replace the lemon with a squeeze of fresh lime juice for a sharper citrus flavour.
Sparkling cucumber chlorophyll water
Replace the filtered water with chilled sparkling water.
Mix the chlorophyll with a small amount of still water first, then slowly add the sparkling water and stir gently to help preserve the bubbles.
Green apple variation
Add two or three thin slices of green apple for a crisp fruit flavour.
Extra-mint variation
Add several additional mint leaves and allow the drink to sit for a few minutes before serving.
Cucumber ribbon presentation
Use a vegetable peeler to create a long, thin cucumber ribbon. Curl the ribbon around the inside of the glass before adding the ice and water.
